Nice review
The single gets a nice write-up in buzz magazine. If you don’t have a copy by now, I’m embarrassed for you!

Where the wild things are
I’m lu-hu-hu-ving this Karen O soundtrack album on spotify at the moment. Looking forward to the film alot. It reminded me of H.R. Puff n stuff, which terrified me as a child, and is still a bit unsettling.
The Holly & The Ivy – live tonight!
We’re changing our name for one night only, seeing as this is our only gig before Christmas. Come watch us sing for our suppers. Why not buy a CD as a stocking filler for a loved one (there are 3 inch CDs also available for those who prefer to hang a sports sock).
I was up late last night watching Elizabeth Frazer/Cocteau Twins on youTube. I saw Cocteau Twins around the time of this video at Royal Albert Hall. She was in a big stuttering/glottal stops phase which got a bit much over the course of an evening, but she is one of my favourite singers evah!
Official release
Everyone says and quadrology are officially released today, we’re going head to head with Susan Boyle i think, but our PR say theyre on the case. Anyway, check out this fella, King Charles, the coolest man since Perry Farrell? Possibly. Thanks to Neil for the link
Buy the CD, get a lovely badge (and vice-versa)
When you buy the CD of our newest, latest, up-to-datest songs from Country Mile, you get a badge, hand made by machines.

We make more badges than songs!
Gruff
Went to see Super Furry Animals’ Gruff Rhys psyche-docu-drama-comedy-tour-film Separado last night. The film was good, with a funny barely-there narrative about searching for Welsh-South American balladeer Rene Griffiths, to whom Gruff is distantly related. In the subsequent Q&A session, Gruff revealed that part of the narrative was a bit of a shaggy dog story, but the idea of tall stories was another thread of the film so it seemed entirely appropriate. Gruff is the worst subject of a Q&A ever! I’d like to see his replies to questions transcribed: ummmmmmm, yeahhhhh, errrrrrrrrr…
Quite Brilliant!
The promotional juggernaut that is The Ash & The Oak’s publicity campaign for our double headed single (available here folks) claimed yet another victim on Wednesday. The latest DJ to fall under our wheels was BBC Radio Wales’ Adam Walton who played ‘Everyone Says’, describing it as ‘quite brilliant’. Muchas gracias to Adam for that.
Radio 1 airplay, yay!
The deliriously beautiful Bethan Elfyn played Quadrology on Radio 1 last night (12th Nov). Interesting to note that between the 2 and a half minute pop song and the 6 minute rock opera, she chose the latter. Good for her!

We’ll be doing a gig on 1st December at the Welsh Club, organised by the Loose folks, supporting The Antlers. Seeing as it’s in December, it qualifies as our Christmas gift to you all, so don’t expect a card!

The best stand up comedy is better than the best music
…discuss.
I went to see Daniel Kitson last night. His show was roughly weaved around the death of his Aunties, which wasn’t a promising premise for a stand up routine, but it was a great show.
Before the show started I was looking at the stage, admiring it’s economy – a chair ( which was used to stand a cup of tea on), and a microphone on a mike stand. That’s it, nothing more. No light show, no effects, no multimedia. A person gets up on a stage and talks for an hour and a half, and it’s brilliant. It blows my mind.
Lovely promos
Being rushed out by Country Mile Records, so they can sit at the bottom of a postman’s bag for a few weeks.
They’ve all been lovingly licked by Country Mile drones. Don’t they look nice? I wonder how many of them will actually end up in a CD player? It’s like those little blind turtles hatching on the beach, fumbling towards the sea, most of them will be looked at briefly by a radio station production assistant and tossed into a pile where they eventually become compost. I think I’ve mixed up my metaphors there, but you get the idea.

Please do not bend, but please do open and listen
What kind of portent…
.. . is waking up in the middle of the night with a wasp on your face? It was unsettling, I tell thee.

Two videos from the same guy. Both great in different ways.
open for business
The ‘everyone says/quadrology’ double A-side Compact diskette is now available physically, in very small numbers (and very small sizes – Country Mile Records have even made a few mini cds!), hand numbered in Country Mile’s own blood, get it from their website.

mini cd - are you mad?
KKkkruuugggger
Hey you naked apes, we done a session for Kruger Mag’s Lab Sessions. It won’t be on their site for a while, but there’s a video that shows us bumbling our way through ‘everyone says’. Watch us stabbing in the dark here:
joke of the week
Strangely comes from the Robbie Williams Roundhouse gig:
Williams pretended to choke up before performing his old hit Feel. It was, he said, his auntie’s favourite song, “and I’m sure she’s looking down on us now.” As the audience awwwed sympathetically, he added: “She’s not dead, she’s just really, really condescending”.
New Songs released into the wild
2 new songs are up and running around like newly hatched baby horses, all knock kneed and bewildered. “Everyone says” and “Quadrology” we’ve decided to call them, and we couldnt be happier. Simon is resting now, but artiste and songs are all doing fine.
They’re on iTunes for 79 pence each, which is about the price of a mediocre pastie with very little filling and bad meat. There’s also a very limited physical release from the good people at Country Mile records. I’m doing the cover as I write these very wordlings.
Pip pip!
