The best stand up comedy is better than the best music

…discuss.

I went to see Daniel Kitson last night. His show was roughly weaved around the death of his Aunties, which wasn’t a promising premise for a stand up routine, but it was a great show.

Before the show started I was looking at the stage, admiring it’s economy – a chair ( which was used to stand a cup of tea on), and a microphone on a mike stand. That’s it, nothing more. No light show, no effects, no multimedia. A person gets up on a stage and talks for an hour and  a half, and it’s brilliant. It blows my mind.
